was born in Muar, Johor in 1998. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of National Changhua Normal University in Taiwan. His main creative medium is transparent watercolor.
Since my family is engaged in ornamental fish breeding, I grew up in a fishery and have a special relationship with ornamental fish. Therefore, ornamental fish naturally become the main subject of my creation, and I reinterpret my observations and feelings about the ornamental fish industry through painting.
As a veteran in the Singapore fine arts scene, Swee Leng (赖瑞龙) has been passionate about painting since his childhood days. He is most widely known for his Chinese ink paintings of Nanyang themes, such as coconuts trees, bamboos, tropical birds (myna, swallows, sparrows etc), fowls (roosters, goose etc) and flowers (plum blossoms, orchids, lotus etc). Swee Leng paints with intriguing free-hand brush strokes on tranquil and meaningful compositions. The tasteful depth, strength and simple grace embodies the traditional authenticity in Swee Leng’s artworks, which is highly commended by many around the world.

Although he was born in a foreign land, he has been deeply influenced by Chinese education since childhood and loves Chinese culture. He is especially involved in Chinese calligraphy, Twenty-Four Histories, Go, and Chinese medicine theory. His calligraphy works have been repeatedly invited to participate in calligraphy exhibitions in many countries.
